Hurts so good?
by return visitor ini know many have been hurt by association with the wts, but i was just wondering, are there any truths that you accually can take away from your association with it.
for instance, before becoming a jw i would recite the lord's prayer, and had never read in matt.
that is was not to be recited, but that it was mearly there as an example of how to pray.

Anyone know a good hangover cure?
by fullofdoubtnow innot for me, i might add.. my boyfriend, who isn't a big drinker, went out with his best mate and a few other friends last night on a birthday celebration.
they went to see some led zeppelin tribute band, and around a few pubs as well.
he staggerred in at around 1:30am, just after i'd gone to bed, very much the worse for drink, and had to make frequent visits to the loo all night.

The Best way to talk with my JW sister???
by Grog ini have a younger sister who is 15 and very willing to debate the witness doctrine with me.
she is planning on getting baptized in about 6 months and i'm against it and even my witness mom who has been a witness for 15 years thinks she should wait.
but of course my sister is getting it from all angles with a study and an older sister who is a fresh baptism and very fervent for the "truth".

Tell her she should wate till she is 18 to make that kind of choice. Ask her if she think's that she will still be in the same frame of mind 3,4, or 5 years down the line from now.(in all things. not just the JW's) God good she can't even drive a car yet) We all know the answere to that one. In fact, I beleave that you could use some of the WTBTS pub's to prove the point of ones age and thinking. To drive the point home...

Your opinion: Are those raised as Witnesses more likely to end up godless?
by under_believer inwas thinking about this the other day and wanted to get your (yes: your) opinion.
i find myself slipping farther and farther down the agnostic scale in my thinking--it's possible that i'll end up an atheist.
my suspicion is that because i was raised being taught that all other religions are false, that i came to the conclusion that if the witnesses don't have "the truth" then nobody does.
